Neste artigo, apresentamos uma investigação que teve como objetivo comparar os níveis de complexidade sintática a partir da contagem das T-Units (Hunt, 1965) de produções escritas em português e em inglês elaboradas por um grupo de crianças de 2º ano do ensino fundamental em uma escola de currículo bilíngue na região metropolitana de Porto Alegre. Observou-se que as crianças produziram um número maior de palavras e de T-Units nos textos elaborados em português em comparação com os textos escritos em inglês, provavelmente por essa ser a língua dominante na família e na sociedade.
