Science and instructional librarians often teach information literacy specific to their discipline. However, data literacy has not traditionally been part of the librarian’s instruction realm. One barrier is the need to include both general and discipline specific concepts. Chemistry and other STEM fields include data instruction for both classroom and laboratory but, are faculty teaching data literacy concepts with the existing curriculum?
