A picture sociometric testing technique was used to study peer acceptance and rejection in a group of twelve three year old and twelve four year old children, enrolled in the School of Home Economics Nursery School at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The sociometric scores for the children derived from this test were related to the age of the children and to their teachers' judgment scores (TJS). The following hypotheses were tested: (1) there is no significant association between the sociometric scores on three different tests administered three weeks apart; (2) that the older the children, the higher their sociometric score; and (3) there is no significant difference between the children's sociometric scores and the teacher...
