The growing interest, during the last few years, in the housing needs and preferences of families has been particularly timely in view of the millions of dollars now being spent on housing. The statistical phase of the four regional rural housing surveys, which was recently completed, has made available a fund of information on the kind, scope, and frequency of household activities carried on by farm families in different parts of the country.
