Hypertension (HTN) is a chronic condition that is frequently the precursor to cardiovascular and metabolic conditions. This article reviews the current literature on the management of HTN in adults, including diagnosis, determination of treatment goals, implementation of treatment regimens, and differentiation between difficult-to-treat and truly resistant HTN.
