The structure of star-forming regions is examined on scales ranging from the few hundred parsecs typical of OB-association/molecular-cloud complexes to the few hundredths of a parsec structure observed in dense cloud cores. Explanations of both the temporal and spatial progress of star formation are reviewed, and factors which may dominate the process on all scales are considered
We review current understanding of star formation, outlining an overall theoretical framework and th...
Most stars form in clusters. This fact has emerged from the finding that "embedded clusters account ...
Star formation within galaxies occurs on multiple scales, from spiral structure, to OB associations,...
We examine the spatial distribution and mass segregation of dense molecular cloud cores in a number ...
Star formation occurs in hierarchical patterns in both space and time. Galaxies form large regions o...
The concept that stars form in the modern era began some 60 years ago with the key observation of ex...
The formation of massive stars and stellar clusters is important in understanding the light we recei...

An observationally grounded understanding of the formation and evolution of molecular clouds, and th...
Star formation plays a central role in the evolution of galaxies and of the Universe as a whole. All...
Aims. The presence of small- and large-scale star formation structures in a sample of six spiral Hub...
We present an analysis of the positions and ages of young star clusters in eight local galaxies to i...
Star clusters form the basic building blocks of galaxies. They span a wide range of ages, from a few...
Spatial distribution of young stellar objects (YSOs) in star forming regions (SFRs) may be used as k...
