Abstract

Introduction: Bone-anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP) using intermaxillary elastics has shown adequate orthopedic results in patients from 10 to 14 years of age. In cleft lip and palate, patients were favored esthetically and functionally during growth, having reduced the possibility or magnitude of future orthognathic surgery. Objective: To evaluate the effects of bone anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP) on the status of the secondary alveolar bone graft (SABG) in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP).
