Acoustic levitation is a versatile and promising tool for object manipulation that has been improved signicantly in recent years. This master's thesis explores the potential use of acoustic levitation in surface-mount technology. By coordinating several ultrasonic transducers an acoustic eld can be generated that can lift and manipulate small bodies without any physical contact. Earlier research in the area has demonstrated dierent arrangements for how the transducers can be placed. Two of these methods, each with 256 transducers, have been built and compared during this project.
