This literature review aims to understand a variety of protocols used in hormone extraction. Hormone extraction from various samples including blood serum, egg yolks, feces, and other biological substances, has been conducted for many years. However there has yet to be a successful protocol that allows researchers to extract testosterone (T) from free living house wren (Troglodytes aedon) egg yolks followed by analyses with enzyme linked immunoassays.
