Wakkanai is the most north city in Japan, and Wakkanai was a city where large quantity of fishes were landed at fishing ports. Landed quantities of fishes at Wakkanai ports have become quite small, but, fishing industries on the most north Japan are still important factors for space commodification and regional images of Wakkanai. The coldness is still strong in images of Wakkanai, and these images come from images of winter at Wakkanai. Recently, refreshing sunlight and breeze become the newest factors of space commodification and regional images of Wakkanai, and these new factors were brought to Wakkanai by the outside residents
