Parent and teacher assessment of knowledge of emergency management in children dental trauma

Relevance of the problem and aim of the work: The prevalence of dental trauma in the world is 10-15% and it is most often experienced by children. An accident can happen when a child is playing outside or at school, hence parents and teachers are the first people who can provide first aid. For this reason, it is very important that parents and teachers would know what to do in this kind of emergency and would be able to provide appropriate emergency care. The aim of this study was to assess the parent and teacher knowledge of emergency management in children dental trauma. Material and the methods: Online anonymous questionnaires were provided to teachers and primary school parents of Vaižgantas Progymnasium of Kaunas University of Technology. The questionnaire consisted of 17 questions. The study involved 170 respondents (response rate – 76.2%): 40 teachers and 130 parents.
