The nature of the senses in the conceptual approaches of undergraduate students in the research phase

This work aims at reflecting on Institutional University Discourse. The goals which support such study are: i) describe sense nature in conceptual focuses from undergraduate students’ discourse when they are starting scientific research process; ii) make a diagnosis of methodological aspects concemed to theoretical thought production and formation in the university context and iii) explain sense behaviour in conceptual focuses which indicate reference processes in undergraduate students, conceming their relation with knowledge. A theoretical framework in French Discourse Analysis was constructed to support such research emphasizing studies from Pêcheux (1975) and Foucault (2002). Besides, studies like Bakhtin (1988), Orlandi (2002) and Santos (2000) were also included in our theoretical references. Our research can be featured as being a qualitative one in its interpretative, analytical and descriptive modality. Other methodological procedures are used as utterance analysis from Letter Undergraduate Students. The corpus, manifestations of Institutional University Discourse, will be investigated from a discursive place in which subjects support their view on institution, analysing discursive formations that are subscribed in the following positions: i) subject and institution; ii) subject and knowledge and iii) knowledge and institution. The results reveal a non-engagement from students in the methodological and didactic processes which support academic formation, reinforcing an informative character instead of an investigative one.Dissertação (Mestrado)Este trabalho tem por objetivo refletir sobre o Discurso Universitário Institucional (DUI). Os objetivos que sustentam esse estudo são: i) descrever a natureza dos sentidos nos enfoques conceituais do discurso dos graduandos em fase de iniciação na pesquisa científica; ii) diagnosticar os aspectos metodológicos relacionados à produção e à formação do pensamento teórico na formação universitária e iii) explicar os sentidos dos enfoques conceituais denotadores dos processos de referência dos graduandos em relação ao seu conhecimentos. O enfoque teórico da pesquisa foi baseado na Análise do Discurso de Linha Francesa, nos estudos de Pêcheux (1975) e Foucault (2002). Em seguida, buscamos subsídios teóricos nos trabalhos de Bakhtin (1988), Orlandi (2002) e Santos (2000). A pesquisa tem um caráter qualitativo interpretativista analítico-descritivo e se complementa com os procedimentos metodológicos das análises dos enunciados dos graduandos do curso de Letras. Tal análise revela os discursos instaurados a partir das formações discursivas, circunscritas nas ocorrências evidenciadas nas regularidades, por meio de variáveis de ordem sujeitudinal e conceituai. O corpus desta pesquisa, o Discurso Universitário Institucional (DUI), será investigado a partir de momentos em que o sujeito se coloca diante da instituição, analisando as formações discursivas que se inscrevem nas posições: i) sujeito e instituição; ii) sujeito e conhecimento e iii) conhecimento e instituição. Os resultados da análise apontam para o não engajamento do graduando nos processos didático-metodológicos que permeiam a formação acadêmica, consolidando um caráter informativo e não investigativo
