The history of teacher education: the singularity of the Escola Normal de Rio Verde, GO (1933-1974)

This investigation looks for to establish systematic registration about the Nonnal School in Rio Verde, GO, which was responsible for the teachers graduation for the primary teaching. So that this happened, it was made a bibliographical revision to understand the meaning of teaching along the history. The theoretical basis facilitated to accompany, in a line of time, the genesis and the evolution of the educational formation in Europe that resulted in the creation of the Normal School as trainer agency, for excellence, for the primary teaching. It was observed that the teaching staff passed for the sieve of the representation that privileged the moral and athical formation, in detriment of the intellect. The invertigation lifted some references on the introduction of the Normal School in Brazil observing as important point, the transplant of the European model without being considered the context diversities. The Normal School in Brazil had the responsability of consolidating interests and several objectives of the dominant classes in different places of the country. The study about the Normal School in Goiás showed the constitution of a trajectory marked by the descontinuity. This situation was the result of the political disregard and the social and economic indifference about this institution. The data and information found on the Nonnal School in Rio Verde affírmed that this institution appeared in 1933, by the teacher’s initiative and it was established throught a civil society under the anonymous form. The institution, in the way as it appeared at the beginning, had minimum duration, but soon the population looked for other forms for its remaining as it, that had a trajectory marked by financial diffícultties, lack of qualified teachers and searching for the public insttution close to (municipality and State) so that it was not eradicated from the city. This school counted witli persistent administration of the Congregação Agostiniana of the Catholic Church from 1942 to 1964 and of the sisters of São Vicente de Paula of Gysengem up to 1974, when it was assumed by the State government and negotiated according to the orientations of LDBn° 5692/71.Dissertação (Mestrado)Esta investigação busca estabelecer registros sistemáticos sobre a Escola Normal em Rio Verde, GO, a qual era responsável pela formação de professores para a docência primária. Para que isto ocorresse, foi feita uma revisão bibliográfica para se compreender o significado da docência ao longo da história. A fundamentação teórica possibilitou acompanhar, numa linha de tempo, a gênese e a evolução da formação docente na Europa que resultou na criação da Escola Normal como agência formadora, por excelência, para a docência primária. Nela observou-se que o docente passava pelo crivo da representação que privilegiava a formação moral e ética, em detrimento da intelectualidade. A investigação levantou algumas referências sobre a implantação da Escola Normal no Brasil observando como ponto relevante, o transplante do modelo europeu sem que fossem consideradas as diversidades contextuais. A Escola Normal no Brasil tinha a responsabilidade de consolidar interesses e objetivos diversos das classes dominantes em diferentes localidades do país. Os estudos sobre a Escola Normal em Goiás mostraram a constituição de uma trajetória marcada pela descontinuidade. Esta situação foi o resultado do descaso político e do desinteresse social e econômico a cerca desta instituição. Os dados e informações encontradas sobre a Escola Normal em Rio Verde afirmaram que esta surgiu em 1933, pela iniciativa de um professor e foi estabelecida através de uma sociedade civil sob a forma de anônima. A instituição, da forma como surgiu inicialmente, teve duração mínima, mas logo a população buscou outras formas para a sua permanência; ela teve uma trajetória marcada por dificuldades financeiras, falta de professores qualificados e pelo esforço junto aos poderes públicos (municipal e estadual) para que não fosse erradicada da cidade. Esta escola contou com administração persistente da Congregação Agostiniana da Igreja Católica de 1942 a 1964 e das Irmãs de São Vicente de Paula de Gysegem até 1974, quando foi assumida pelo governo estadual e tratada segundo as orientações da LDB n° 5692/71
