Adoção e paternidade na perspectiva de homens que adotaram seus fillhos

Adoption is one way of inserting children and adolescents in substitute families where they have become son or daughter of this family. Although there has been an increase in the number of researches on adoption and paternity, the adoption adoptive fatherhood remains unexplored. In order to contribute to reducing this gap, this study aimed to understand the meanings determined by men who adopted their children to adoption and parenthood. We sought to understand the motivations that led these men to adopt; their perceptions of the legal adoption process and the preparation period; the main difficulties in the initial period of living with the child (ren); and your perceptions about your fatherhood. To this end, an analysis of eight reports published on institutional websites and books of men who became parents through adoption was carried out. The reasons that led these men to resort to adoption were: infertility; the couple's desire to adopt; to satisfy the wife's desire to have children, previous coexistence with a child, and to satisfy the wife's desire to adopt. In the perception of these men, the adoption process is bureaucratic and slow, but the period of preparation is important for the experience of this process and the exercise of parenting. The main difficulties faced during the initial period of living with the children are related to the children's emotional and behavioral factors. Embora se tenha observado um aumento no número de pesquisas sobre adoção e paternidade, a paternidade por adoção ainda permanece pouco explorada. A fim de contribuir para minimizar esta lacuna, este estudo teve por objetivo compreender os significados atribuídos por homens que adotaram seus filhos à adoção e à paternidade. Buscou-se: compreender as motivações que levaram esses homens a adotar; suas percepções sobre o processo jurídico de adoção e sobre o período de preparação; as principais dificuldades enfrentadas no período inicial de convívio com o(s) filho(s); e suas percepções sobre sua paternidade. Para tanto, foi realizada uma análise de oito relatos publicados em sites institucionais e livros de homens que se tornaram pais por meio da adoção. As motivações que levaram esses homens a recorrerem à adoção foram a infertilidade, o desejo do casal de adotar, a satisfação do desejo da esposa de ter filhos, a convivência prévia com a criança e o desejo da esposa de adotar. Na percepção desses homens o processo de adoção é burocrático e moroso, mas o período de preparação é de fundamental importância para vivência desse processo e exercício da parentalidade. As principais dificuldades enfrentadas durante o período inicial de convivência com os filhos estão relacionadas a fatores emocionais e comportamentais das crianças. Para esses homens a condição paterna é estabelecida pelo vínculo afetivo; e os mesmos se percebem como bons pais e descrevem ter um bom nível de envolvimento com seus filhos.2022-10-0
