The Author illustrates the main problems stemming from the interaction between a hydraulic machine and a circuit. Some considerations are developped on the techniques used to set up mathematical models of these phenomena, as well as on the conceptual and practical difficulties met with. There follows an analysis of the aim of the papers presented for Question III, with particular interest on the techniques used in each case.
