This is an account of an experimentation carried out in 1984 in the new town of St Quentin en Yvelines (France). The two sites involved differ only in the way rainwater is collected, this consisting on the one in its direct connection to the system of collectors for the whole waterproof area, on the other, in the spreading of waters from roofs over lawns. The experimentation showed no incidence of interception modes over the volume of run-off water. Howewer the sprading of water on little permeable soils may lead to an increase of the flow discharge, due to an acceleration of the phase of saturation of the soil.Cette communication rend compte d'une expérimentation menée en 1984 sur la Ville Nouvelle de Saint Quentin en Yvelines.
