Methods for modelling pollutant transport and dispersion from sea outfalls. The concentration field around a pollutant outfall in coastal marine waters is relatively complex to assess if all hydraulic mechanisms are to be taken into account with precision. It is often essential to make use of a mathematical model. However, for rapid approximations or when certain simplifications can be made to the velocity field or to turbulent diffusion assessment, analytical solutions to the diffusion equation can be used.
