Recession of shoreline along the South West France coast. Notion of previsionai sedimentology During the last fifteen years, the average erosion on South Western French beaches reached 0.5 to 1.5 m/year. The Saint-Girons area remains quite stable. The highest erosions are geographically distributed ; nain peaks occur every 45 to 50 km, secondary peaks every 20 to 25 km. Considering the displacement of erosion areas (0.5 to 1 km/year) predictions of potential degradation of shoreline zones may be established as well as a program of emergency works.
