Effect of wind on the performance of a natural draft wet cooling tower. It is important to be able to forecast the effect of wind on the performance of natural draft wet cooling towers. Real towers were tested at Gardanne and Carling, one counter-flow, the other cross flow tower. The results were compared with those obtained in wind tunnel testing using two different models : - isothermal models, the assessment being based on Reynolds similarities ; - heating models, based on Froude similarities.
