The model presented is based on thermodynamic expressions describing the equilibrium between inorganic compounds and solutions. From a given water composition, it computes the distribution of simple and complex ions and the degree of solution saturation relative to a large number of compounds and salts. It simulates the dissolution reactions of one or several compounds as well as the evaporation of a solution.
