An essential requirement for successful large-scale development is to be able meet the demand for water by long-term development and protection of available supplies. This necessarily involves aquifer behaviour prediction in order to be able to avoid difficulties and to prepare each development item in time. In order to be able to predict the behaviour of an aquifer one must know its hydraulic parameters and the corresponding boundary conditions. The hydraulic parameters were established initially by local survey but are now increasingly becoming available from regional data, especially water table variations in both Space and time.
