Some results on the mechanics of boiling. The mechanics of boiling are connected with the behaviour of heat origins and bubbles. Populations reaching 100 centres per sq. cm of heating surface have been measured under pressure. The diameter of the bubbles breaking away from the wall has been experimentally studied and the mechanics of breakaway providing an explanation of the influence of pressure are discussed. Finally, emphasis is placed on the importance of the phenomenon of coalescence even under conditions of high pressure and high flux.Le mécanisme de l'ébullition est lié au comportement des germes générateurs et des bulles.
