Connections between fluorine veins and warm springs in the Saint-Laurent-les-Bains region of the Ardeche department. A detailed geological survey of the region and observations in connection with certain incidents during the working of the fluorine mines at Saint-Laurent-les-Bains are used to show that, despite the absence of fluorine in the local warm spring water, this water nevertheless passes through the fluorine veins on its way up to the surface, and not through independent faults as had previously been assumed. The spring water at Saint-Laurent-les-Bains thus appears to be associated with the final stage of a hydro-thermal emission process. When the Saint-Laurent source (altitude 845 m) dried up and a sudden inrush of water occurred...
