Rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy gmin Szczecińskiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego na tle województwa zachodniopomorskiego

The study attempts to answer the question whether the existence and development of a metropolis contributes to the increase in the level of local development or is it developing at its expense depreciating the importance and growth possibilities of peripheral areas. The main aim of this study is to analyze the level of socio-economic development of communes belonging to the Szczecin Metropolitan Area against the background of the region – West Pomeranian Voivodeship. For this purpose were identified key measures of socio-economic development, on the basis of which an attempt was made to calculate the level of socio-economic development of municipalities belonging to Szczecin Metropolitan Area using the zero unitarisation method, and then it was compared to analogous values calculated for the voivodship. The analyzes showed a large variation in the values of individual measures. On their basis, it was found that the Szczecin Metropolitan Area doesn’t increase at the cost of the regional environment.W artykule podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy istnienie i rozwój metropolii przyczynia się do wzrostu poziomu rozwoju regionalnego, czy może obszar metropolitalny rozwija się kosztem regionu, deprecjonując znaczenie i możliwości wzrostowe obszarów peryferyjnych. Celem opracowania jest zbadanie poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego gmin należących do Szczecińskiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego (SOM) na tle regionu – województwa zachodniopomorskiego. Aby to osiągnąć, zidentyfikowano kluczowe mierniki rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego, na podstawie których przeprowadzono próbę obliczenia przy wykorzystaniu metody unitaryzacji zerowanej poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego gmin należących do SOM, a następnie porównano go do analogicznych wartości obliczonych dla województwa. Opracowanie jest elementem cyklu publikacji autorki poświęconych wynikom badań obrazujących poziom i determinanty rozwoju Szczecińskiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego
