Las traducciones surrealistas francesas como resultado del cambio social, cultural y político al final del franquismo

International audienceThe purpose of this article is to show how social, cultural and political changes during the second Francoism (1959-1975) influenced the translation of surrealist essays in Spain. The 1966 Press and Printing Law as well as the emergence of student protests and strikes promoted by the most rebellious working sectors favored the appearance of a more visible left wing opposition and the creation of new dissident publishing houses keen on editing surrealist books that appealed to an intellectual society. Nevertheless, despite this new Press and Printing Law, the Spanish Ministry still censored some parts of these literary works and obliged the publishing houses as well as the translators to practice self-censorship.El propósito de este artículo es mostrar cómo los cambios sociales, culturales y políticos durante el segundo franquismo (1959-1975) influyeron en la traducción de los ensayos surrealistas en España. Tanto la Ley Fraga como el surgimiento de las protestas estudiantiles y de las huelgas promovidas por los sectores trabajadores más rebeldes favorecieron la aparición de una oposición de izquierdas más visible y la creación de nuevas editoriales disidentes deseosas de editar libros surrealistas que interesaban a la sociedad intelectual de la época. No obstante, a pesar de dicha ley, el Ministerio continuó censurando algunas partes de estas obras y obligó tanto a las editoriales como a los traductores a autocensurarse
