In this paper, a dynamical model for an on-line monitoring and control strategy design is proposed. It describes the dynamic behaviour of in-roll stresses as the roll is being built. The distribution of in-roll stresses is in fact a key issue to tackle the problem of avoidance of in-roll stresses.
