Purpose of Project: The intent of this DNP project is to determine if a faith-based education program would improve the knowledge related to understanding hypertension and its related diseases amongst African American adults. Methodology: Participants completed a hypertension questionnaire before the education session and then after. The sessions were implemented within small groups within a faith-based organization. The study took place over a two week time frame. 20 participants participated in the study. Results: Study results were collected and data analysis was done comparing pre-test scores and post-test scores.
