An artistic text and the semantic structure of the word konwalia

The present paper consists of two parts. In the first one, the author spins theoretical deliberation on the role of an artistic text in the semantic reconstruction of a word structure. The latter stage of the description contains the analyses of the Young Poland’s poems, which is to show the recreated fragment of an interpretative frame of the word konwalia. Semantic components, being the development of the domain of CZAS KWITNIENIA, are the subject of a description here. Creative texts take on a particular meaning in the semantic reconstruction of a word structure in the Polish of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, because conventionalized code facts do not give too much information on the language image of konwalia. The word konwalia was not preserved in proverbs , idioms, morphological or semantic derivatives. The presented analyses show that the Young Poland’s poetic texts are a basic research material: they proved the feature of “it blossoms in May”, which is exposed by the name of konwalia majowa, they helped to reach other features belonging to the semantic nucleus of the word, as well as they contributed to the elicitation of the whole range of connotations of konwalia with a different degree of consolidation and expansion, belonging to the domain of CZAS KWITNIENIA.Uniwersytet w BiałymstokuArnsztajnowa Franciszka, 1911, Poezye.
