Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune neurodegenerative disease, with inflammation and demyelination in the central nervous system, which results in different neurological symptoms. TI1e disease is usually diagnosed as a relapsing-remittent multiple sclerosis (85 %), which is characterized by acute attacks followed by recovery. Here we describe drugs used in the therapy/management of multiple sclerosis. In the acute phase new symptoms appear or the current neurological status worsens. The standard therapy consists of high doses of methylprednizolone, which is efficacious and usually leads to a quick recovery.
