The study assessed responses of some morphological, physiological and biochemical attributes to salinity effects of S. drummondii adult plants from saline and non-saline habitats, in addition to young potted plants treated with different NaCl levels in the laboratory. There was insignificant difference in many of the studied attributes between plants grown in saline and those grown in non-saline habitats; e.g. leaf fresh and dry weights, leaf succulence, concentrations of some essential elements and some antioxidants. S. drummondii seedlings grew very well in up to 500 mM NaCl under the lab conditions, and associated with antioxidants increase with increasing NaCl up to 800 mM NaCl. Transcriptome analysis for salt tolerance in S. dru...
