Impulsividad, Influencia Grupal y Búsqueda de Sensaciones en 28 Consumidores de Sustancias Psicoactivas de un centro de rehabilitación en la ciudad de Ibagué

Objective: To identify the level of impulsiveness, group influence and search of sensations by taking a sample of psychoactive substance consumers in Ibagué. Method: The study population was distributed into two groups “the institutionalized and the open field one”, every variable was tested by means of the “Sensation-Seeking Scale (SSS)”, the Impulsiveness Plutchik Scale (IPS) and a social characterization record; the problem was analyzed under the explanatory model of Jessor & Jessor (1977; Jessor, 1992) y Zuckerman (1994). Results: The individuals, who consume psychoactive substances more frequently, have a family unit with consumption backgrounds, also, they have a basic high school education; the total population states that they have been influenced by the group for the execution of disruptive attitudes. The 42.6% of the population overtook the point of impulsiveness reference, getting the 39.3% in high levels, at the same time, the 78.5% presents significant levels of sensation seeking. Conclusions: The sensation seeking is a characteristic of the total population. The current results are proposed as factors for taking into account at the beginning, maintenance and increase of the psychoactive substance consumption.Objetivo: Identificar en una muestra de consumidores de sustancias psicoactivas de la ciudad de Ibagué el nivel de impulsividad, influencia grupal y búsqueda de sensaciones. Método: La población evaluada estuvo distribuida en dos grupos “institucionalizados y medio abierto”, se evaluó cada una de las variables por medio de la escala de búsqueda de sensaciones (forma V) “Sensation-Seeking Scale, SSS”, la escala de Impulsividad de Plutchik (EI) y una ficha de caracterización social; se abordó la problemática desde los modelos explicativos de Jessor & Jessor (1977; Jessor, 1992) y Zuckerman (1994). Resultados: Los sujetos consumidores de sustancias psicoactivas con mayor frecuencia tienen familia nuclear con antecedentes de consumo, su nivel de escolaridad es básica secundaria. La totalidad de la población afirma haber sido influida por el grupo para la ejecución de conductas disruptivas. El 42.6% de la población superó el punto de corte en impulsividad, ubicando el 39.3% en niveles altos, paralelamente el 78.5% presenta niveles superiores de búsqueda de sensaciones. Conclusiones: La búsqueda de sensaciones es una característica de la totalidad de la población. Los presentes resultados se proponen como factores para tener en cuenta en el inicio, mantenimiento e incremento del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas
