El artículo presenta hallazgos cuyo objetivo fue describir significados que otorgan al uso del celular estudiantes de la carrera de Pedagogía en Educación Diferencial de la Universidad Católica de Temuco, en el centro sur de Chile. El estudio se desarrolló desde el método cualitativo con alcances descriptivos. Se fundamentó desde el enfoque Sociedad-Red y la teoría crítica posmoderna. Se aplicó entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales.
