N/APoland has been experiencing what is commonly called a 'Jewish revival' since the democratic shift of 1989, which is understood as both the Polish Jewish community revival and the rise of interest in Jewish things by non-Jewish Poles. One aspect of the revival is the increasing interest in Yiddish language. Poland is considered to be the cradle of Yiddish language and culture, and it was the hypocenter of Yiddish cultural productions in the region until the Second World War. Poland is thus of a great significance for Yiddish, and Yiddish is of a great significance for Poland.
