Aku orang Dayak. Collective identity of The Dayaks Ngaju from Central Kalimantan in the context of javanization and globalization process.

Głównym celem badawczym niniejszej pracy jest analiza zmiany kulturowej zachodzącej wśród Dajaków Ngaju z Centralnego Kalimantanu, wynikającej z ich kontaktu z kulturą indonezyjską oraz globalną. Dodatkowym problem badawczym jest status antropologii jako nauki stosowanej. Praca jest wynikiem badań przeprowadzonych w Indonezji w latach 2012-2014, zrealizowanych dzięki rządowemu stypendium Darmasiswa.W pracy wykorzystuję koncepcję Manuela Castellsa (tożsamość legitymizująca i tożsamość oporu), przyjmuję wytyczne antropologii zaangażowanej oraz, na podstawie filozofii dialogu Martina Bubera, proponuję nowe podejście w naukach społecznych – antropologię dialogu. Z perspektywy autoetnograficznej opisuję moje doświadczenia badawcze (pozyskiwanie informacji, przyjmowanie ról, uzyskiwanie dostępu do grupy). Na koniec stawiam pytania, które pozostawiam otwarte. Czy tożsamość zbiorowa Dajaków nabierze wyrazu czy też ulegnie silniejszym wpływom? Co stanowi większe zagrożenie – pozornie uniformizująca, ale w zasadzie sprzyjająca zróżnicowaniu globalizacja, czy jawnie narzucana hegemonia kultury indonezyjskiej, która może obudzić kulturę alternatywną?The main purpose of this research study is to analyze cultural change among Ngaju Dayak people of Central Kalimantan, resulting from their exposure to Indonesian and global culture. Additional purpose is to inquire about the status of anthropology as an applied science. My thesis is based on research carried out in years 2012-2014 in Indonesia, implemented through the government scholarship called Darmasiswa. I am referring to the concept of legitimizing and resistance identity by Manuel Castells, to the guidelines of engaging anthropology and to Martin Buber's philosophy of dialogue, which leads me to an idea of anthropology of dialogue. I am using the methods of autoethnography to describe my experience as a researcher (gathering information, accepting social roles, accessing local groups). I conclude with raising few questions that remain open. Is Dayakese collective identity about to get stronger - or to submit to outer influences? What constitutes a greater threat: the process of globalization (which is both standardizing and favorable to local diversities) - or the hegemony of Indonesian culture (that as externally enforced can also raise local alternative movements)
