The open structure. From a work to performer. Bogusław Schaeffer and Miles Davis as the example of the changes of music and drama in 20th century.

Praca jest analizą problemu otwartości dzieła i procesu formotwórczego w kontekście koncepcji modelu dzieła otwartego Umberto Eco (,,Dzieło otwarte”) oraz założeń formalno-kompozycyjnych kompozytora i dramaturga Bogusława Schaeffera. Głównym problemem artykułu jest proces działania aparatu wykonawczego, który utożsamiony zostaje z procesem formotwórczym, oraz jego mechanizmy, przejawy i modyfikacje zanalizowane w oparciu o konkretne pozycje z dorobku artystycznego dwóch twórców - Bogusława Schaeffera oraz amerykańskiego trębacza, producenta i lidera, Milesa Davisa. Zestawiając inscenizację Kwartetu dla czterech aktorów Schaeffera w reżyserii Mikołaja Grabowskiego (rejestracja wideo) z albumem In a silent way Milesa Davisa autor stara się wykazać podobieństwa w koncepcjach formalnych obu twórców (proces twórczy, problem zapisu/partytury u polskiego kompozytora i trębacza) oraz działaniach obu odmiennych zespołów wykonawczych, u których organizacja danego materiału zasadza się na improwizacji oraz świadomości otwartości struktury formalnej dzieła.The article is devolted to analyse of the open work and a formcreative process related to the Umberto Eco s' concept of the open work model (described in 'The open work') and formally conventional assumptions of polish composer and playwright Bogusław Schaeffer. The main problem raised in this article is the acting process of the performers, equated to formcreative process and its mechanism and transformations analaysed in relationship with the works of two artists – Bogusław Schaeffer and american trumpeter, producer and leader, Miles Davis. Comparing Schaeffers' Kwartet dla czterech aktorów directed by Mikołaj Grabowski (video recording) and Miles Davis' album entitled In a silent way the author is trying to present the similarities between two formal ideas (creative process, Davies' and Schaeffers' concepts of a record) and actions of the two, varius types of the group of performers with a different way of organizing the material based on improvising and consiousness of the open structure of the work
