Automatic painting style classification

Niniejsza praca ma na celu przedstawienie algorytmu automatycznego rozpoznawania stylu cyfrowej kopii dzieła malarskiego. W tym celu wykorzystane zostały najnowocześniejsze techniki analizy obrazów, jak choćby deskryptor SIFT (1) i inne deskryptory, oraz metody uczenia maszynowego, tj. metoda wektorów nośnych (2) czy algorytm k-średnich. Wynikiem pracy jest algorytm obliczający klasyfikator stylu malarskiego, osiągający skuteczność około 2,5-krotnie wyższą niż losowa. Przedstawione zostały także proponowane metody poprawy skuteczności.This thesis aims to present an algorithm for automatic style classification of the digital copy of painting. For that purpose, the most up-to-date methods of image analysis were used, such as SIFT descriptor (1) and other descriptors. This thesis also makes use of modern classification methods, such as support vector machine (2) or k-means method. The result of this thesis is an algorithm, which trains painting style classifier. Classifier reaches accuracy about 2,5 times better than random classification. There were also presented suggested methods of bettering the accuracy
