Głównym celem pracy, było wykazanie czy Safona, Teokryt i Katullus w swoich utworach, pisali o prawdziwych wydarzeniach i rytuałach, czy wymyślali je na potrzeby swojej poezji. W pracy opisuję fragment utworu 44 Safony, Epitalamium Heleny i Menelaosa, który napisał Teokryt oraz Carmen 61, Carmen 62 i Carmen 64 autorstwa Katullusa. Przeanalizowałam również greckie i rzymskie tradycje weselne.
