Praca ta przedstawia algorytm przewidywania drugorzędowej struktury białek w oparciu o algorytm SVM. Prezentowana jest także modyfikacja macierzy substytucji zależnej od pozycji w taki sposób, by uwzględniała ona strukturę drugorzędową białek pokrewnych. Macierz ta jest później wykorzystana w procesie tworzenia danych wejściowych dla algorytmu klasyfikacji.
