This study aims at deepening the knowledge on the multi-level imbricated logics which led to the exceptional collective mobilization of national and European actors against the 2008 reform of the CMO-wine, which plans the planting rights’ liberalization. Since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the role of the European Parliament has been strengthened in the EU institutional balance – which upholds the role of its Wine Intergroup in the EU decision-making on wine issues. This Wine Intergroup is examined under various perspectives, outlining its unique composition, history and legitimacy, in order to consider whether it is a wine organized lobby within the European Parliament on this case study.
