This master's thesis presents the Lojasiewicz gradient inequality together with one of its most important applications. Namely, we prove the theorem describing the behaviour of the trajectories of an analytic gradient dynamical system. At the end of the work we also mention the gradient conjecture of R. Thom and a generalization of the results presented to o - minimal structures
