In this master thesis characteristics of nanocomposites based on layered aluminosilicates (montmorillonite) and hydrogel polymers (polyacrylamide, ammonium polyacrylate) is presented. The studied nanocomposites were synthesized by the in situ polymerization performed in an aqueous slurry of the clay. Three series of materials varying in a kind of montmorillonite (source and initial modification) and polymer composition (polyacrylamide, ammonium polyacrylate as well as copolimers containing polyacrylamide and ammonium polyacrylate at the molar ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and 1:3) were obtained.
