The theme of this thesis is history of the island of Samos in the archaic period, to 522 B. C. It is divided into four chapters. In first chapter preliminary issues have been discussed - characterized the sources on which work is based, and presented general information about the island such as natural conditions, or etymology of the name. The second chapter is an attempt to reconstruct the political situation on the island in VII and VI century B.C. The turn of these centuries is extremely important for the history of the island, since then tyranny began.
