The European Union policy on the agricultural and food products market

AbstractThe aim of this Master’s thesis is to present the attitude of the European Union to the market of agricultural and food products. Therefore the thesis touches upon the history and evolution of the Common Agricultural Policy in the space of years and, respectively, the processes which shape it at present. The thesis attempts to help understand and systematize the principles which operate within the European market of agricultural and food products, by, respectively, describing the specificity of the region and the principles of nutrition quality as well as the care for the European tradition and regional history. The thesis also deals with such important aspects as the European Union trade in agricultural and food products with non-Union countries, the principles of consumer information and nutrition quality within the European Union. The writer presents the specificity and vulnerability of the agri-food sector and describes the issues of proposed changes in the Common Agricultural Policy as well as its possible evolution trends in the future, particularly, in terms of the costs that it generates and the dynamics of the food trade developments on the world markets.StreszczenieCelem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest ukazanie podejścia Unii Europejskiej do rynku towarów rolno-spożywczych. Z tego względu praca porusza historię i ewolucję WPR na przestrzeni lat oraz odpowiednio procesy kształtujące ją współcześnie. Praca usiłuje pomóc zrozumieć i usystematyzować zasady rządzące wewnątrzeuropejskim rynkiem towarów rolno-spożywczych. Odpowiednio opisując specyfikę regionu oraz zasady jakości żywienia i dbałości o tradycje i historię regionalną Europy. Praca ponad to porusza tak ważne aspekty jak handel towarami rolnymi i spożywczymi Unii Europejskiej z krajami trzecimi, zasady informacji konsumenckiej i jakości żywienia na terenie Unii Europejskiej. Autor także przedstawia specyfikę i wrażliwość sektora rolnego i spożywczego i opisuje kwestie proponowanych zmian w WPR i ewentualnych kierunków jej ewolucji w przyszłości, zwłaszcza w kontekście kosztów, które generuje i dynamiki rozwoju handlu żywnością na rynkach światowych
