The aim of the present study was to estimate the growth (accumulation of biomass) of the grass Miscanthus giganteus in Polish climate. Miscantus giganteus is a plant which may be potentially use as an alternative source of energy. The experiment was conducted on a plantation in Polanka Hallera - a village in the district of Krakow. Observations and measurements of increments of biomass were made from December 2009 until June 2011. Plants of Miscanthus giganteus were propagated in two ways: by sharing the carp or rhizomes and via in vitro culture. Plants were planted in the spring of 2009.
