The main issue of this paper is influence of modern art, used in design of the packaging, on perception and evaluation of this product. Subjects were randomly divided on two groups. Some of them knew that a picture placed on the packaging of the coffee was made by famous painter, others had not this knowledge. Additionally, people were differentiated on the extent of interest in art. It has been checking, if the awareness of using modern art in design of the packaging had any impact on appraisal of the product on the scales: cheap vs expensive, traditional vs contemporary, fashionable vs unfashionable, for young people vs for mature people, quantity vs exclusive and designable vs. indesignable.
