The Poetic Edda is the basic source of knowledge of Fenrir – the myt hicwolf, which is the main source used in this thesis. This work includes in detail analyses of characters against a background of different cultures, where the myth of wolf was used.The successive chapters describ wolf in the ancient Greece and Rome and the Christian culture. Next, the picture of the wolf is described in myths of ancient Celts, Native Americans and Turkish-Mongolian people of ancient Eurasian.In the third chapter author searched for Fenrir in the modern world, for example in literature and internet.
