Introduction: Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is a common cardiac arrhythmia. The frequency of its occurrence increases with age. This particular heart rhythm disorder may be caused by the following factors and diseases: hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, heart failure or hyperthyroidism. The basic treatment of atrial fibrillation is restoring and maintaining sinus rhythm as well as preventing thromboembolic complications.Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the quality of life in patients suffering from paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.Subjects and methods: The study included a group of 100 people (51 men and 49 women), aged from 25 to 88.
