The aim of this thesis was to demonstrate cultural determinants of the Korean society health related behaviors to facilitate the understanding of Korean people behaviors, feelings and needs in everyday and illness situations. The study was based on scientific articles analisys, direct interviews and participanting observation among South Koreans. The concept of the culture and transcultural nursing was defined and the elements of Giger & Davidhizar’s tarnscultural assasement model were described. Further analisys of the cultural determinants of Korean society behaviors was based on this model. Cultural factors shaping the philosophy and the social system of Korea were described.
