Influence of Selected Personal Resources on the Postoperative Period Following Cataract Surgery

The thesis is the result of the author’s interest in the influence of psychological factors on health-related issues and the quick recovery of persons who have underwent cataract surgery with the help of the phacoemulsification method. The thesis describes the clouding in the crystalline lens of the eye known as cataract as well as modern treatment methods. Additionally, the thesis outlines the significance of personal resources, including the sense of coherence, optimism and being satisfied with life, during the postoperative period following cataract surgery. The aim of the thesis is to assess the impact of chosen personal resources, including the sense of coherence, optimism and being satisfied with life, on the postoperative period following cataract surgery with the help of the phacoemulsification method.The theoretical part of the thesis contains information regarding cataract, its symptoms and causes, as well as cataract treatment methods and post-treatment complications. Additionally, the thesis focuses on the psychological aspects of cataracts and its impact on the health of those who have developed cataracts. The thesis emphasizes the impact of personal resources on the way a patient touched cataracts functions, and the significance of primary care for patients being prepared for cataract surgery. The second part of the thesis contains the research objective, research topics as well as methodology. Research results regarding the impact of chosen personal resources on the postoperative period following cataract removal with the help of the phacoemulsification method are elaborated in detail. W części teoretycznej, zawarto informacje dotyczące choroby zaćmy, jej objawów oraz przyczyn powstania. Również opisano sposoby leczenia zaćmy, a także związane z tym powikłania. Dodatkowo, skupiono się na psychologicznym aspekcie choroby zaćmy i jej wpływu na życie człowieka. Podkreślono wpływ zasobów osobistych na funkcjonowanie pacjenta z chorobą, oraz znaczenie opieki pielęgniarskiej nad pacjentami przygotowującymi się do operacji usunięcia zaćmy.Druga część zawiera cel pracy, problemy badawcze i metodykę badań.
