Knowledge of CMUJ and AGH students about skin cancer

Skin cancer is a serious clinical problem because of the frequency and cosmetic defects that cause the treatment is not quickly implemented. Hence the importance of educational activities are aimed at raising public awareness of the causes of and ways to prevent skin cancer.The aim of this study was to learn what knowledge about skin cancer have CM UJ and AGH students.Participated in the study 102 people, including 51 students CM UJ and 51 students AGH. To collect information used in the method of diagnostic survey instrument was a questionnaire containing the author's questions about the causes, predisposing factors, characteristics of skin cancer and the effects of solar radiation on the skin and its involvement in the pathogenesis of skin cancers.The study shows that CM UJ students have a greater knowledge of skin cancer. Only about half of the students declare the knowledge of the rules to help with the observation of signs of skin changes occur in the direction of cancer, so it is important to organize meetings, the campaign in order to bring the public with issues related to prevention of skin cancer.Nowotwory skóry stanowią poważny problem kliniczny ze względu na częstość występowania oraz defekty kosmetyczne , które wywołują gdy leczenie nie jest szybko wdrożone. Dlatego tak ważne są działania edukacyjne mające na celu podniesienie poziomu wiedzy społeczeństwa na temat przyczyn powstawania i sposobów zapobiegania nowotworom skóry.Celem pracy było poznanie jaką wiedzę na temat nowotworów skóry posiadają studenci CM UJ i AGH. W badaniu wzięło udział 102 osoby, w tym 51 studentów AGH oraz 51 studentów CM UJ. Do zbierania informacji wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego a narzędziem był autorski kwestionariusz ankiety zawierający pytania na temat przyczyn, czynników predysponujących, cechach nowotworów skóry oraz wpływu promieniowania słonecznego na skórę i jego udział w patogenezie nowotworów skóry.Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika iż studenci CM UJ posiadają większą wiedzę na temat nowotworów skóry. Zaledwie około połowa badanych studentów deklaruje znajomość zasad pomocnych przy obserwacji znamion skórnych w kierunku wystąpienia zmian nowotworowych, dlatego ważne jest organizowanie spotkań, kampanii w celu przybliżenia społeczeństwu zagadnień związanych z profilaktyką nowotworów skóry
